Two people, three birds, working together to provide beautiful, unique products and outstanding customer service.
The two people are Elizabeth Blumberg, in charge of impractical plans and ridiculous goals, and Joseph Dynega, responsible for making impossible things possible with his amazing grasp of innovations in technology ranging from the awl to the internet . Floyd, Vlad and Vendetta are Emerald Toucanets. They handle group yapping , flying and general morale.
Doing Well By Doing Good is In Our DNA: Stone and Bone Trading Company started when Elizabeth’s mom won a trip to Bali at a fund raiser for the Bellevue/NYU Survivors of Torture Program. On previous visits to Asia, Elizabeth saw the wonderful crafts available there and had a dream of establishing a small import business selling those crafts. This trip to Bali provided her with the opportunity to buy beautiful items from the local artisans and bring them back to the United States. All of our sales of those items have included a donation to the Bellevue/NYU Survivors of Torture program.
As our business has grown our focus has as well. We've adopted the St. John’s Place Settlement House, a shelter for women and children located near our headquarters in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. We collect backpacks and school supplies during the Back to School period and holiday gifts for the shelter residents at Christmas.
