Bronze Dragon Candle Holder Handmade Candelabra Large

This listing is for one 13" tall three-pronged Bronze Dragon Candle Holder. It is 8" wide.

This piece is very heavy but is hollow on the inside.

These dragons were made by an artist in Ubud, Bali. The antiquing process used to give them the lovely patina is very labor-intensive and involves burying the pieces, rubbing them with ash and sand, and other processes.

All the Balinese items listed in my store were purchased on a trip my mother and I took which was won at a fund-raiser for the Bellevue/NYU program for survivors of torture. This is an amazing organization that helps people who have been tortured in their home countries deal with the physical and emotional scars left by violence and enables them to become functional Americans. For example, one day my mother helped a young woman from Darfur who needed help changing her baby in the bathroom. It was hard for her as the bathroom didn't have a changing table and she only has one arm. My mother was deeply affected and wanted to buy the woman an arm herself, but found to her great relief the matter was being handled much more professionally by the organization. It is an awesome program. Starting this little business is my little way of giving something back. A portion of the profits from this business will be donated to the Bellevue/NYU program.
